HireHelpr may process limited information relating to children where a customer books a nanny or childcare-related service. This may include information such as:

  • Child’s first name or nickname

  • Relevant care instructions
  • Allergies or health-related instructions supplied by the parent or guardian
  • Emergency contact details
  • Special instructions needed for the booking

Customers must not provide unnecessary sensitive information about children unless it is relevant to the booking.

8. Special personal information

Some information may be considered sensitive or special personal information under POPIA, such as identity documents, criminal background or police clearance information, health-related childcare instructions, or emergency information.

We process this information only where necessary, where legally allowed, where you have consented, or where required to protect safety, verify Helprs, manage bookings or comply with legal obligations. We apply stricter access controls to sensitive information.

9. How we share personal information

We may share personal information only where necessary and lawful.

9.1 Sharing between customers and Helprs

To fulfil bookings, we may share limited information between customers and Helprs.

Information shared with Helprs may include:

  • Customer first name
  • Booking date
  • Service address
  • Service type
  • Customer notes relevant to the booking
  • Contact details where necessary for operational purposes

Information shown to customers may include:

  • Helpr first name
  • Profile photo
  • Occupation
  • Location or service area
  • Languages
  • Experience
  • Daily rate
  • Rating
  • Availability
  • Verification badges
  • Approved reviews

We do not show customers private Helpr verification documents or internal notes.

9.2 Sharing with service providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate HireHelpr, including:

  • Authentication providers
  • Payment gateways
  • Email or SMS providers
  • Analytics providers
  • Verification or background-check providers

Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary service-related communications.

You are responsible for keeping your password and account access secure. You must not share your account with another person.

19. Third-party websites and links

The HireHelpr website may contain links to third-party websites, services or payment platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of third-party websites.
